Information we collect
We collect personal information that includes details such as:

How information is used

- perform our necessary business functions (such as internal audit investigations, performance reporting, research, product development and planning); and
- provide you with notifications and correspondence during a transaction.
To achieve the above, we may disclose your personal information to organisations that carry out functions on Falcon’s behalf. Such functions may include mailing and printing houses, funds transaction processors, IT service providers, professional advisers, account holders and operators, valuers, introducers, advisors (including legal advisors), notaries, guarantors, debt collection agencies, regulators and government authorities. Our agreements with these entities ensure this information is only used to carry out functions on our behalf.
How the information is stored
We store most personal information on third party cloud-based email servers. Temporary local copies of your personal information may be stored on our desktop PCs, works mobile phones, laptops, and in internal applications.
All personal information held on our servers is stored in a secure server room located in London.
All personal information is backed-up to the cloud as part of our disaster recovery procedure.
Some information about you is recorded in paper files that we store securely.
We will take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify personal information once we no longer require it for the purposes for which it was collected or for any secondary purpose permitted under the NZPPs.
Disclosing your information
We may transfer or disclose your personal information to our related companies.
We may disclose personal information to external service providers so that they may perform services for us or on our behalf.
We may also disclose your personal information to others outside our group of companies:
- where we are required or authorised by law to do so;
- to a credit reporting agency;
- where you may have expressly consented to the disclosure or the consent may be reasonably inferred from the circumstances; or
- where we are otherwise permitted to disclose the information under the Privacy Act.
If the ownership or control of all or part of our business changes, we may transfer your personal information to the new owner.
Disclosing your information to overseas recipients
We may disclose your personal information to our other offices or subsidiaries which are located outside New Zealand, including in the United Kingdom. We will ensure that your rights are protected in the same way as if we held this information in New Zealand.
Use of information for marketing purposes
We may use your personal information for the purpose of producing a digital newsletter relating to products and services we believe may interest you, but we will not do so if you tell us not to. These products and services may be offered by us, our related companies, our other business partners or our service providers.
Where you receive electronic marketing communications from us, you may opt out of receiving further marketing communications by following the opt out instructions provided in the communication.
